Amber Bondurant-Sullivan, MD
About
I became an Ob/Gyn because I’m truly passionate about the care of women. I admire the influential role that women often have within families and how they give so much to those around them. I’ve always wanted to give back to the community of women by providing care and support to them through all life stages, including the most pivotal moments. I truly value the relationships I build with my patients and feel it’s my purpose to promote, empower and educate women about their health. I take a down-to-earth approach to the care I provide, working hard to meet my patients where they are, and considering their individual needs and desires in the development of a treatment plan. I value patient autonomy and understand that no single approach will suit all Obstetrics and Gynecology patients because of differences not only in physical needs, but also emotional, mental and spiritual health and wellness.
I specialize in general Obstetrics and Gynecology practice, which means I care for women during pregnancy, labor and childbirth as well as manage gynecologic conditions affecting the vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries. I also perform a wide variety of gynecologic procedures and surgeries including minimally invasive surgical techniques in the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids and ovarian cysts.
My time as a resident influenced my decision to pursue academic medicine because I feel guiding the next generation of medical students and Ob/Gyn residents is some of the most important work in the continued advancement of the field. Now, as the fourth-year Ob/Gyn clinical track director, I work with medical students in their last year of education who have decided to pursue an Ob/Gyn career. I provide mentorship, guidance and education as these students apply and transition to their residency training programs. In addition, working in the Ohio State Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has allowed me to stay connected with interested Ob/Gyn students.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my two small children, and friends. I also make time for fulfilling hobbies such as bike riding, dancing, reading, traveling and all things Peloton.
