House Bill 47: Require automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools

HB 47 requires the placement of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in both of the following:  Each public and chartered nonpublic school; and each municipal sports and recreation location, except in townships and villages with populations of less than 5,000.

  • The bill passed in the House (84-9) in June 2023 and was referred to the Senate Health committee. The committee held a second hearing for proponent testimony was shared in December 2023.
